Entering the 21st century nation Indonesia is marked by an era of reform in all areas of life, the hard times due to the severe economic crisis. Phenomenon that emerged from a prolonged crisis shows the changes in various aspects of political, economic laws of life, and education. Facts sufficient to show that Indonesia is time to reexamine the paradigm of nation building. Education can provide a foundation for the development of noble values, legal reform, political, economic culture, and others. Thus, reform in education is a claim that is not negotiable.
The era of reform and to provide more hope, challenge and opportunity, but many are still questioning the expectations, challenges and opportunities to the world what we in education reform. Thus it seems inappropriate in knowing by all parties are called to promote education in Indonesia. In the midst of the hustle and bustle of the demands for reform, the fundamental problem in the macro from the world of education increased surface including fighting corruption, improving the quality, decentralization and the autonomy of education, legislation, empowerment and participation, paradigm.

Math scores can be seen from the context of ontological, epistemological and axiological within the limits of intrinsic value, extrinsic and systemic. For learners of mathematics itself the lowest value of mathematics is that if you only use its own, higher math scores if it can be used for public interest. But the highest math scores is if it can be used systemically for the wider interests. But the values ​​of mathematics that is developed should be coupled with critical thinking because the math is none other than critical thinking itself. Future of mathematics acuity can walk through the concept of teleology that what happens in the future at least photographed through now. However, there are other values ​​associated with the level of quality. At first the quality of math scores only appear on the outside, but on the quality and the second and third so then the value of mathematics is metaphysical.
